American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in an acute care setting, requiring a CA RN license and competency with Cerner EMR.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 20-bed ICU within an acute hospital settingNight shifts with 12-hour shift length and every other weekend requiredPatient ratios are typically 1 : 1 or 1 : 2Patient population includes neuro, oncology, radical cancer surgeries, abdominal and urology cases, CVA, respiratory failure, sepsis, and select vascular surgeriesPhillips telemetry and Cerner EMR are usedVentilators managed by RT; nurses expected to troubleshootFloating may occur to ER, telemetry, or med-surg units, and to nearby sister facilityMinimum floor-specific orientation includes at least two shifts plus one shift for CernerResponsibilities include caring for critically ill patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including troubleshooting ventilators and managing emergenciesResource nurse or shift manager available each shiftRT and pharmacy available 24 / 7 in the unitCharge nurse assigned each shift; no dedicated nurse aidesHoliday coverage requires one major and two minor holidays during Christmas, with eves classified as minorNavy blue scrubs requiredMust be prepared to float between campuses or units as needed, though mid-shift floats are rareFirst time travelers are acceptedRNs must pass orientation and related competency tests including sterile technique and dysrhythmia if applicable\n \n Requirements\n
Active and current CA RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses)Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience, including night shift experienceExperience with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry preferredTwo professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibilityCopy of driver’s license requiredCannot have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year\n Benefits\n
