The unit focuses on patients recovering from neurosurgical procedures and neurological complications. Nurses will care for a variety of patients, including those with sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, alcohol withdrawal, and other medical conditions. The nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 4. Nurses are expected to interpret telemetry and monitor vital signs regularly. Candidates must have skills in various nursing procedures, including IV management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and wound care. Weekend coverage is required; nurses will work every other weekend. Traveling nurses must be willing to accept assignments that may include COVID-19 patients. Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. Healthcare professionals must maintain a compassionate and supportive approach to patient care. Nurses in this unit are an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. This position requires dedication, adaptability, and a proactive attitude in delivering high-quality patient care.
