SHIFT SUPERVISOR - 2nd SHIFT

This salary, exempt position, supervises plant operations for assigned shift by adhering to company policies and procedures, ensuring safe work practices are followed.

Ensures customers receive a quality die cast product by performing accurate and timely procedures for casting die and trim press setups, changeovers, and sleeve changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the production operations including casting and finishing press setups, changeovers and sleeve changes.
  • Manages floor work activities required to keep an orderly flow of production without unnecessary interruptions.
  • Leads and assists the operators and support technicians as required, minimizing downtime.
  • Monitors all electronic production data, hourly data reports, machine parameters, machine faults, and quality issues.
  • Coordinates labor as needed to maintain production, including relieving for breaks, lunch, etc.
  • Coordinates appropriate training and development of new and existing team members.
  • Leads shift meetings and communicate needs to management as needs arise.
  • Communicates with process engineering and mold design regarding process improvements for continuous improvement, mold change reduction and cycle time goals.
  • Ensures cells are completely set up and ready for production.
  • Monitors and communicates customer quality requirements.
  • Assists Operators and Tool Room Technicians in analyzing die problems and preparing the tool cart.
  • Performs general audits and maintains correct tools and supplies for all equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
  • Follows all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Policy regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

Education : High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Experience : Two years experience in plant manufacturing, preferably casting or related manufacturing foundry experience; Two years leadership experience.
