Travel ICU RN Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel ICU Registered Nurse

Location : Mount Vernon, Illinois (Southern Illinois, Zip : 62864)

Unit : Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Contract Length : 13-week travel nursing assignment

Start Date : October 13, 2025

End Date : January 11, 2026

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Shift : 12-hour variable night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Weekend / Holiday Rotation : Every other weekend and holiday

Bed Size : 7 licensed ICU beds

Patient Ratio : 2 : 1

Scrub Colors : Navy Blue

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Critical Care nursing experience

Active Illinois RN license required

Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Proficiency with EPIC charting system

Ability to float to Emergency Room (ER) or Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) units as needed (orientation provided)

Strong communication, adaptability, and interpersonal skills

COVID-19 vaccine not required at this time (subject to change)

Travel nursing candidates only (must reside outside a 40-mile radius of Mount Vernon, IL)

ICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; administer medications and perform interventions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

Float to ER or Med-Surg units as needed; may serve as House Supervisor (orientation provided)

Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records

Participate in crash cart checks, temperature checks, and supply management

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
