About the role :

PMAT has an ongoing need for skilled and dynamic Platform Engineers to join our team supporting The Department of the Navy. As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable platforms that support critical Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) naval systems and applications. Daily tasks can vary from hands on keyboard to technical discussions, including but not limited to, deploying, managing, and designing Cloud & Kubernetes environments, and writing automation scripts.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand platform requirements and design scalable solutions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain platform services to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
• Work closely with software developers to optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues related to the platform.
• Design and implement automated deployment processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient release cycle.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of platform services.
• Implement and enforce best practices for platform architecture, security, and performance.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot incidents, and implement proactive measures to prevent issues.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to propose and implement improvements to the platform.

This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Work Environment : PMAT offices as needed. In some cases, work in a government facility may be required. Travel may be required for customer engagement, team coordination, and potentially for business development.
