Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager with deep telecommunications industry expertise to lead complex, enterprise-scale software development initiatives in cloud environments. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, business savvy, and exceptional stakeholder management capabilities to drive transformational projects from conception through delivery.
The ideal candidate will serve as the critical bridge between technical teams and business leadership, translating complex technical concepts into strategic business value while navigating the unique challenges of telecommunications operations, BSS / OSS systems, and cloud-native application development.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale telecommunications software projects in AWS cloud environments
- Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with executive stakeholders and technical architects
- Develop comprehensive project plans, resource allocation strategies, and risk mitigation frameworks for complex, multi-year initiatives
- Drive Agile / SAFe methodologies across distributed teams, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical execution
- Manage project portfolios involving BSS / OSS transformations, customer experience platforms, network automation, and digital service enablement
Technical & Business Strategy
Provide strategic input on cloud architecture decisions, microservices design, API integrations, and data migration strategies in AWS environmentsEvaluate technical feasibility, scalability, and cost implications of proposed solutionsChampion DevOps practices, CI / CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native development principlesStakeholder Management & Communication
Manage relationships with C-level executives, business unit leaders, vendor partners, and regulatory bodiesNavigate and influence difficult stakeholders, resolving conflicts and building consensus across competing prioritiesDeliver executive-level presentations, business cases, and status reports that clearly articulate project value, risks, and strategic alignmentTranslate complex technical concepts (cloud architecture, API design, data pipelines, security frameworks) into accessible language for non-technical audiencesFacilitate workshops, steering committees, and governance forums with diverse stakeholder groupsRisk & Quality Management
Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and business risks throughout project lifecycleEstablish quality gates, testing strategies, and acceptance criteria for cloud-based deliverablesDrive post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiativesRequired Qualifications
Experience
10+ years in technical project management, with 5+ years specifically in telecommunications industry5+ years managing cloud-based software development projects, preferably in AWS environmentsProven track record delivering large-scale, complex projects ($5M+ budget) on time and within scopeDemonstrated success managing difficult stakeholder environments and executive-level relationshipsExperience leading Agile / SAFe transformations in large enterprise settingsTechnical Knowledge
Awareness of AWS services : EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFormation, ECS / EKS, CloudWatchSoftware development lifecycle : Agile, SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, DevOps practicesTelecommunications domain knowledge :Marketing catalog management and product lifecycleCustomer experience platforms and digital channelsData management : ETL pipelines, data lakes, analytics platforms, real-time data processingIntegration Technologies awareness : REST APIs, event streaming (Kafka), message queues, ESB / integration platformsRequired Skills
