Central Carolina Hospital is a 137-bed acute care hospital located in Sanford, NC, providing quality healthcare since 1981.

The hospital offers specialties including cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, emergency medicine, gastroenterology, hospitalist services, intensivists, nephrology, hematology, urology, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, and wound care.

The hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center and a Chest Pain Center, with Advanced Heart Failure Accreditation and a Stroke Rural Recognition Silver Award in 2024.

Job Requirements

Must have 2 years of experience in emergency nursing.

Required education : ADN.

Must have skills / experience in emergency nursing, trauma, resuscitation, IV, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood products, basic telemetry / EKG.

Preferred experience includes emergency medicine and psychiatric ER experience.

Schedule Information

Shift : 7 PM to 7 AM.

Weekly guaranteed hours : 36.

Weekend hours : every other weekend and some holidays.

Call requirements : none.

Float requirements : as needed.

Unit Specific Information

Unit : Emergency Department (Cost Center 16776 (780) ER SERVICE).

Number of openings : 1.

Shift : 7 PM – 7 AM.

Patient population : all ages.

Supervisor : ED Nurse Manager.

Common diagnoses / treatments include COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, stroke.

Personality fit : fast paced, multi-tasker, team player.

Additional Details

Unit has 21 beds : 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, 5 fast track rooms.

Patient ratio : 1 : 5.

Equipment includes emergency equipment.

Electronic Health Record system : Cerner.

Dress code : any scrub color; no open-toed footwear, no spandex pants, no sweatshirts.
