Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Position Highlights

Employment : Full-time, hospital-employed by Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group

Scope of Practice : Adult and / or adolescent psychiatry; inpatient and outpatient care

Responsibilities : Psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, medication management, patient / family education, crisis intervention, and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings

• Setting : Collaborative behavioral health department with access to advanced hospital resources

Qualifications

Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Current and unrestricted Illinois APRN license with Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification

Current DEA registration and controlled substance license (or ability to obtain prior to start)

Minimum 1-2 years of psychiatry / behavioral health experience preferred; new graduates with strong training considered

Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Commitment to evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and compassionate care
