Position : Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Shift : Day Shift (08 : 00 AM - 04 : 30 PM)
Shift Length : 8 hours
Contract Duration : 13 weeks
Schedule : Sunday - Saturday (7-day availability)
Role Overview
The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide comprehensive assessment and treatment services for residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders across two skilled nursing locations. The clinician will support patients in improving communication abilities, cognitive functioning, and swallowing safety through individualized, evidence-based therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations to assess speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing function.
- Develop customized treatment plans that address patient needs and care goals.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including cognitive-linguistic therapy, speech clarity work, expressive / receptive language treatment, and dysphagia management.
- Complete detailed and timely documentation for evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
- Travel between assigned facilities within the split position as scheduled.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff (nursing, physicians, rehab team) to support cohesive patient care.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies, safety measures, and compensatory techniques.
- Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements, facility policies, and professional standards.
- Participate in team meetings, care planning, and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).CCC-SLP preferred; CFY may be considered depending on facility need.Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care strongly preferred.Ability to manage a split-site schedule effectively.Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills.Ability to work independently with a diverse caseload.
