Program Overview :
The 10 Girls Initiative is a Tier 2 intervention within Boston Public Schools designed to address the academic and social-emotional disparities experienced by Black and Brown female students . The program aims to build self-efficacy belonging and academic engagement by providing culturally responsive mentorship and holistic support.
Through structured experiences such as Rites of Passage Real Talk and Journey to Sisterhood students will engage in transformative practices that strengthen their identity resilience and leadership. The initiative also provides targeted support for students identified with chronic absenteeism through the BPS Early Warning Indicator platform .
Position Overview :
The Office of Teaching and Learning seeks dynamic and committed school-based educators or staff to serve as Lead Mentors for the 10 Girls Initiative. Lead Mentors play a pivotal role in guiding both students and school-based mentors through relationship-driven mentorship academic encouragement and cultural empowerment.
Lead Mentors will act as a liaison between school mentors and Director coordinate community partnerships and help ensure that each participating school delivers impactful programming that fosters brotherhood growth and academic success for young men of color.

Lead Mentors will receive a stipend of up to $5000 for their participation in the school year.
