A long-standing, general contractor with over a 50 years of success is seeking a Project Accounting Manager to join its growing finance team. This role was newly created due to continued business expansion and the increase in active construction projects across the Midwest. The company is known for its stable growth, diverse project portfolio, and collaborative culture.

Job Description

• Oversee day-to-day project accounting operations and mentor a team of project accountants.
• Manage job cost reporting, billings (AIA), lien waivers, and subcontractor compliance.
• Review project financials, analyze cost variances, and ensure alignment with budgets and contracts.
• Partner with operations, project management, and leadership teams to provide financial insights.
• Maintain consistent accounting processes and internal controls across multiple projects.
• Support month-end close and ensure timely, accurate reporting for active jobs.
• Leverage technology (Viewpoint, Textura, or eBuilder) to streamline accounting functions and reporting.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred).
• 5+ years of project accounting experience within construction, engineering, or related industries.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong understanding of job costing, AIA billings, and construction accounting processes.
