ANTICIPATED PHYSICAL THERAPIST
REPORTS TO : Director of Special Services / Supervisor of Special Services / Principal
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Valid New Jersey Physical Therapist License and Credentials
- Minimum experience as determined by the board
- Broad knowledge of child growth and development.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students, parents and community groups and agencies
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Digital fluency required.
- Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status
JOB GOAL :
To assist students with difficulty in achieving their school based gross motor skill potential / independence, promote a healthy, balanced and autonomous lifestyle in order to participate to their potential in activities of daily living, life skills, and to enable all students to maximize their educational opportunities to the fullest by assisting or ameliorating those problems that prevent or interfere with student's full access to their academic environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Customized intervention programs to improve student's physical ability.Comprehensive adaptation recommendations.Performance skills assessments and treatment.Adaptive equipment recommendations and usage training.Provide guidance / recommendations to family members and caregivers as needed.Keeps informed of all legal requirements governing special education and ensures that all requirements under administrative code, state / federal law and board policy are met.Recommends policies and programs essential to the needs of students needing physical therapy.Cooperates in the procedures for evaluation, placement and re-evaluation of students in need of special education and / or related servicesAssumes responsibility for district compliance with regulations regarding physical therapy.Initiates, facilitates and maintains liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet pupils' special needs. Refers parents and child to agencies when appropriateCooperates with CST to plan, coordinate, and evaluate student services programs.Participates in the development and implementation of inservice programs.Assumes responsibility for the preparation and timely submission of all required reports, and for timely input into reports prepared by others.Performs other related duties as may be assigned.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Salary Range : $57,330- $107,184 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and in accordance with VTEA contract salary guide
