Senior project accountant

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include managing and reviewing all subcontract documents, processing owner requisitions including complex AIA billing, and coordinating closely with project teams on budget revisions and change orders. This role is essential for timely and accurate financial reporting, requiring the management of payments to subcontractors and vendors, monitoring compliance (including insurance and lien waivers), and ensuring proper cost reporting and revenue recognition. You will also be heavily involved in month-end and year-end financial closings, preparing project-specific reports, assisting with audit preparation, and executing general ledger activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis. A proactive approach to process enhancements for project accounting systems and workflows is highly valued, along with conducting ad-hoc research on both project and corporate financials. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, coupled with 7 or more years of relevant experience, preferably within the construction industry. Proficiency with industry software like Timberline, Procore, and Textura is a significant advantage.
