About the Role

High-end, growth-focused bakery seeks a hands-on Lead Cake Decorator to own custom cake design and production for weddings, corporate events, and luxury occasions. You’ll lead a small team, elevate design standards, and balance creativity with timelines and cost.

What You’ll Do

Lead, train, and schedule a small team of decorators.

Meet clients, translate concepts into portfolio-quality designs.

Plan production calendars; control costs, yields, and waste.

Maintain templates, SOPs, mise en place, and finishing standards.

Oversee tastings, sketches, color matching, structural supports.

Partner with leadership on process improvements and growth.

What You Bring

8+ years professional cake decorating; advanced piping, fondant, buttercream, sculpted and tiered cakes.

Proven team leadership in a bakery or pastry environment.

Client-facing communication; comfort with high-profile events.

Business mindset (pricing, portioning, materials, timing).

Culinary / pastry degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Portfolio demonstrating design range and structural skill.

Nice to Have

Airbrushing, sugar flowers / isomalt, hand-painting, 3D structure.

Basic POS / ERP or order-management familiarity.

Compensation & Benefits

$60,000–$90,000 base (DOE) + comprehensive benefits.
