Position Summary :
- We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the Global Controller in overseeing Toolsgroup’s global accounting operations.
- The highly skilled and detail-oriented person will help lead and manage global revenue accounting under ASC 606, oversee commissions, ASC 842 lease accounting, ensure compliance with US GAAP and supervise the US accounting operations.
- This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
Revenue Accounting (ASC 606) : Lead global software and professional services revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review bookings and contracts.Ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting across all regions.Commissions :
Oversee accounting for commissions, including amortization schedules and compliance with relevant US GAAP accounting standards.Align with global accounting teams for statutory reporting of commissions while complying with US GAAP.US GAAP Compliance :
Manage ASC 842 lease accounting globally, while maintaining statutory reporting capabilities.Support the Global Controller in ensuring all accounting practices and financial reporting comply with US GAAP while allowing for statutory reporting.Monitor changes in accounting standards and implement necessary updates.US Accounting and Other Oversight :
Supervise the US accounting team, providing guidance and support on day-to-day operations.Prepare, review and approve global journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.Manage government and tax reporting including direct and indirect taxes Assist with the implementation of new systems, tools, or automation to support the scaling of the accounting function.Lead our AI transformation creating efficiency and accuracy in our financial reporting.Month-End, Year-End Close and Reporting :
Create, update and manage the monthly close checklist.Manage the close process for US entities, ensuring deadlines are met and financials are accurate.Continuously improve the close process, striving to close faster and better .Design, maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.Coordinate and support annual audit with external auditors, including review of audit schedules and responding to audit requests Prepare and review annual financial statements and supporting schedules.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue recognition and US GAAP compliance.Experience in a global organization with multi-entity, multi-currency operations.Strong understanding of software revenue recognition within ASC 606 and prepaid commission accounting.Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Prefer experience with NetSuite and advanced Excel skills.Ability to work across time zones and cultures.Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.AI automation experience preferred.Applying to this job the candidate consents that his / her data are treated by ToolsGroup in compliance with the GDPR n. 2016 / 679 GDPR and Transparency Document U.S. applicant notice :
