Job Summary
The Restaurant Accounting Supervisor oversees daily restaurant accounting operations performed by onsite and offshore team members, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role supervises accounting staff, manages workflows, and supports the Accounting Manager in maintaining strong financial controls and efficient accounting processes. This position requires knowledge of restaurant-level accounting processes, the ability to multi-task and to solve problems. The Supervisor will be expected to provide a high level of customer service as it requires interaction with restaurant managers, internal team members, and third-party service providers.
What You'll Do
- Supervise, lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team of Accounting professionals (onshore and offshore) to ensure timely and accurate recording of restaurant and brand level revenues and expenses.
- Supervise the timely and efficient month-end close process to ensure accuracy of individual restaurant and brand level financial data
- Assign and review work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Train team members on accounting procedures, system updates, and best practices.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.
- Work with internal and external IT partners to ensure data movement timeliness and accuracy.
- Work closely with Brand Operations and Brand Finance teams regarding sales, expenses, inventory and actual vs theoretical cost of sales.
- Perform analysis to determine appropriate accounting of certain rebates.
- Analyze, evaluate and implement, as necessary, process improvements related to the Restaurant Accounting process and perform quality and control audit reviews of all processes in assigned area.
- Represent Restaurant Accounting on project teams.
- Ensure SOX compliance and manage internal and external audits.
What You Bring to the Team
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum of 4 years of accounting experienceAt least 2 years of supervisory experienceAlternatively : 6+ years of accounting experience without a degree, with supervisory experience strongly preferredStrong ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with both internal and external partners, using clear written, verbal, and one-on-one communication.Proven leadership ability to align day-to-day operations of a team with organizational goals, ensuring consistency compliance and accurate data deliverExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesProven track record in driving process improvements and delivering superior customer service.Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, MenuLink, Insight experience a plus.Why Brinker
