The Optometric Technician is an essential part of our team who assists the optometrist in pretesting patients and provides exceptional patient care and registration at two (2) of our office locations : ( 85254 & 85050 )
Must be Available to Work "full shifts" 5 out of 7 days each week (WEEKDAYS and WEEKENDS) based on our business needs.
Will not be scheduled at more than one location during the same dayWorking Environment :

A high school diploma or equivalent. Customer service, and optometry or medical office experience preferred.
Essential Duties :
Greet patients by providing professional and friendly customer serviceAnswer phones, schedule appointments, insurance verifications, patient check in and out processes, collect copays, patient intake duties, and referralsEnter patient data, maintain patient demographics, HIPAA compliance confidential dataExplain processes to prepare patients for pretesting, perform vision pre-screenings, take legible notes during examinations, transition patients to doctorsProvide exceptional patient carePromptly review and reply to voice messagesPerform minor maintenance on examination equipment or contact the supervisorDaily office cleaning and sanitation of examination equipmentPerform and document no show, NEE, and courtesy reminder callsCommunicate effectively with patients, doctors, and fellow teammatesAbility to be scheduled at different office locations during the weekExcellent attendance and punctuality are essential for our patient careOther duties as assignedDesired Qualifications :
Experience using optical pretesting equipmentEvidence of strong working relationships with doctorsExperience in customer / patient serviceBilingual (Spanish preferred)Ability to self-motivate with the experience of working under pressureOptometric technician certification or associate’s degree, optometric technicianAssociates or higher degree in medical, human relations, or related fields
