About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with its mission and supports its budgetary needs. The CDO will be the primary driver of giving campaigns, providing essential team leadership, and overseeing the Resource Development Department. Key responsibilities include the development and management of an annual fundraising plan, the identification and cultivation of major gift prospects, and the leadership of various fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will also be responsible for enhancing the organization's public profile through strategic marketing and communications, as well as for the supervision of staff involved in donor development, grants management, and public relations. Candidates for the CDO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in high-level non-profit fundraising, with a preference for those with 7-10 years' of progressive experience. The role requires a proven track record in areas such as annual and capital campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, and foundation grants. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising software, excellent communication skills, and strong leadership abilities are essential. The CDO will work closely with the executive team, Board of Directors, and various committees to assess funding needs and ensure that fundraising strategies are in line with the organization's goals. The position demands a candidate with strong coaching skills, the ability to work flexible hours, and a valid driver's license.
