Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Albuquerque, NM 87106 (New Mexico nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Level I Trauma, Children's, Teaching Hospital

Contract Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract

Start Date : January 26, 2026

End Date : April 27, 2026

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night, 12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Weekly Hours : 36 or 48 (contract preference available)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2070-$2120

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2

On-call : Required (3x12s : 24 hrs / 4 wks; 4x12s : 12 hrs / 4 wks)

Float : To antepartum and postpartum units as needed

Scrubs : Purple scrubs provided

Parking : Free onsite parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NM or compact state; New Mexico RN license can be pending at submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a large L&D unit

Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (No RQI certifications accepted)

Experience with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system preferred

Proficient in circulating for C-sections, fetal heart monitoring, postpartum care, and baby nurse / meconium deliveries

Ability to float to antepartum and postpartum units as needed

COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical / religious exemptions accepted with documentation)

Non-local candidates only (must reside more than 75 miles from facility)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-volume L&D unit

Circulate for C-sections and assist with medically assisted deliveries

Perform and monitor external and internal fetal heart monitoring

Provide postpartum care, including fundus, lochia, and perineum assessments

Support breastfeeding and lactation needs for new mothers

Float to antepartum and postpartum units as required

Participate in special procedures : cerclage, version, AROM, PPTL, C-hyst, neonatal palliative care, and massive transfusion protocol

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services)

Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner EHR
