Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $1,843 per week in Nashville, TN

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : RN License Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS Required Must-Have : Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience. Advanced skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring. Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT. Description : The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 1 : 2 and 1 : 1 for certain device patients. A free-floating charge nurse assists staff. Unit secretaries and an Administrative Care Tech are available Monday to Friday. Student Nurse Externs assist nurses by performing tech duties. Equipment includes Philips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps. The documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires working 2 weekends per month and 1 summer holiday. Staff must also work 2 winter holidays. Employees float as needed, typically to other ICUs but may include other floors. There are no specific patient experience requirements. The unit provides care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients. Procedures performed include central line insertion, Swan insertion, and intubations. The unit features a strong, driven team of nurses with excellent teamwork. An intensivist is assigned to the unit 24 / 7. The unit supports a high volume of advanced cardiac surgeries performed by a team of full-time surgeons.
