JOB TITLE : Medical Supply Clerk
DEPARTMENT : Administration
REPORTS TO : Administrator
JOB PURPOSE
The Medical Supply Clerk is responsible for procurement andmanagement of medical supplies and equipment in an efficient and fiscallyresponsible manner in accordance with current federal, state and localstandards, guidelines and regulations to assure the highest degree of qualityresident care can be maintained at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for accurate inventory of allmedical supplies and for ensuring supplies are available for the smoothoperation of the facility
- Responsible for communication with vendorsregarding orders, delivery and invoicing, and communication with nursing teamregarding supply availability
- Responsible for ensuring rooms for newadmissions have needed supplies prior to resident arrival
- Responsible for reviewing invoices to ensureaccuracy
- Ensure all supply storage areas are clean,organized and are free of hazardous conditions
- Responsible for assisting with new stafforientation and ongoing training related to supply tracking system
- Responsible for attending in-service programs,educational workshops and meetings as required
- Responsible for complying with all safety andsanitation procedures including universal precautions
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at minimum a high school diplomaExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as a part of ateamStrong organizational and time-management skillsMust be in good general health and free ofcommunicable diseasesMust have the physical ability to sit, stand,walk, bend, and move intermittently throughout the work dayMust have the ability to read, write and speakthe English languageWORKING CONDITIONS
