Job descriptionProvider Type : Physician Request Type : Locum Tenens Coverage Type : Call Only EMR System : Epic Facility Accepts Multiple Providers : Yes Practice Setting : Inpatient Is Both Inpatient and Outpatient Required? : No Hospital / Surgery Center Privileges Required? : No Admissions Required? : No Patients Per Shift : 5-8 Bed In Department : Not specified Rounding : Assigned Patients Board Certification Requirement : Yes Fellowship Requirement : Required Minimum Board Certification : Eligible Certifications Required : ACLS License Requirement : Licensed in WA or IMLC Estimated Credentialing Timeframe : 45-60 days This is a GI Hospitalist / inpatient GI call coverage request. The Gastroenterologist will have an average of 5-8 procedures each day, including up to 5 elective outpatient procedures that require Anesthesia support (not IVCS). Average new inpatient consults per day : 3-6. Strong preference for candidates who perform ERCP. Anesthesia is readily available during the day shift. On weekends, usually two anesthesia teams are available in the morning, and add-on GI cases are in the queue with all other surgical add-ons. IV conscious sedation is available for procedures if required. The physician is responsible for communicating biopsy results for all procedures directly to the patient or routed through the designated clinic MA. Coordination of additional steps including referrals, follow-ups, and additional imaging may be necessary. EPIC training will be required.
