Surgery Scheduler, Cardiology - Wilshire, FT Days

Overview

Under the direction of the Medical Practice Manager, the Surgery Scheduler performs surgery scheduling and various routine clerical tasks. The Surgery Scheduler oversees insurance inquiries; performs pre-admission reviews and explains deductible and payments if necessary; schedules surgery time with hospital and schedules physical before surgery date. Works closely with Office Manager and other members of the office to trouble-shoot and resolve problems, maintains positive relationships with patients, family members and other visitors, and fellow employees.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery times with the hospital and schedule the required pre-operative physical before the surgery date.
• Oversee insurance inquiries and perform pre-admission reviews; explain any applicable deductibles and payments as needed.
• Work closely with the Office Manager and other office staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, family members, visitors, and fellow employees.
