Job Description :

• The Physician Specialist provides direct clinical care to state prisoners, functions collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and maintains effective communication with staff and administration.
• Provides assessments, direct clinical care, and treatment to inmates.
• Conducts comprehensive psychiatrist assessments (demonstrating a review of the electronic record, psychotropic medications, history of mental illness, prior psychiatric hospitalization, suicidal, unusual, or bizarre behavior) for new admissions to UCHC s Special Needs roster according to established time frames.
• Orders, initiates and interprets laboratory tests according to required time frames or as medically necessary.
• Conducts adequate and timely civil psychiatric commitment evaluations.
• Adequately completes required peer reviews or other audits within required time frames.
• Participates in treatment planning.

State Youth Correctional Facility). Is looking for a Psychiatrist to work two days a week at our State Correctional Facility.

• There is some flexibility regarding which 2 days the Providers works if the days are Monday-Friday.
• This is a day shift
• This is working in Outpatient
• No call requirements
• Not required to be board certified, but must be board eligible for Psychiatrists
• The ages of the inmates range from 18-30
• Location is Garden State Correctional Facility at 55 Hogback Rd, Crosswicks, NJ 08515.
