Job Overview

Shriners Children's Texas is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Burn Surgeon to join our nationally recognized interdisciplinary burn care team. The Pediatric Burn Surgeon will provide advanced surgical care to pediatric burn patients, including acute burn management, reconstruction, and complex wound care. This role involves collaboration with a dedicated team of plastic surgeons, intensivists, Advanced Practice Providers, anesthesiologists, therapists, nurses, and researchers to deliver outstanding, family-centered care in an academic and mission-driven environment. Successful candidates will have completed both burn and surgical critical care fellowships and have experience with treating pediatric burn patients.

Four burn surgeons cover the service, with one surgeon on service per week. Home call is taken on a 1-in-4 rotating basis, running concurrently with the service week, and is supported by an in-house resident on night float and a burn fellow for backup. Weekend calls are taken approximately one weekend per month. 4 APPs serve the inpatient unit and burn clinic.

This is a full benefits eligible position that entails a 1.0 FTE commitment. Compensation is determined based on years of clinical experience and departmental equity.
