Unlike traditional IV settings, this compounding involves batch preparation of up to 250 vials at a time, requiring a unique skillset and understanding of this specific type of sterile compounding.

Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Job Specifics and Requirements :

Area : Dallas, TX

Licensure Requirements : Must have open, active, and in good standing TX Pharmacy Technician License

Education : H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.

Experience Needed : 2+ years in a sterile environment, need strong sterile compounding experience

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 30-6pm

Pay :   $22.00+

Background / Drug Requirements : Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen

Job Responsibilities :

Accurately measure, weigh, count, and compound medications.

Precisely mix pharmaceutical preparations according to formulation logs.

Maintaining meticulous and accurate patient records, including entry of correct lot numbers and expiration dates of compounded medications.

Ensuring proper storage and security conditions for all drugs.

Expertly preparing and compounding a variety of sterile products.

Use USP 797 standards to maintain the pharmacy clean room suite

Utilizing experience with repeater pumps or willingness to learn (experience with crimpers is a plus).

Managing inventory and ensuring proper storage, completing all necessary documentation such as labels, log sheets, and reports.

Properly clean equipment and sterilize glassware by using dry heat ovens or autoclaves.

Consistently meeting established efficiency metrics while strictly adhering to quality standards.

Adhere full compliance with Company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.

Performing other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy operations.

Performing sterile compounding functions within a Category 3 clean room environment ("bunny suits"). Proper gowning technique in this environment is essential.

Prepare sterile products for dispensing and meticulously document all entries.

Ensure accuracy and maximize productivity in all patient care contributions.

Consistently monitor physical inventory levels and promptly inform procurement of any stock shortages.

Engage in glove fingertip and media fill testing to uphold required competency levels.
