Job description

Site Controller

GeoStabilization International (GSI) develops and installs innovative solutions that protect people and infrastructure from the dangers of geohazards. We specialize in emergency landslide repairs, rockfall mitigation, and grouting, using cutting edge design / build and design / build / warranty contracting. GSI is the leading geohazard mitigation and bridge rehabilitation firm operating throughout the United States, Canada, and Australasia. Our expertise, proprietary tools, and worldwide partnerships allow us to repair virtually any slope stability or foundation problem in any geologic setting.

At GSI, our culture is about being nimble but strong, fast-paced while team oriented, innovative, data-driven, and most importantly, client-focused. Our work is best suited for individuals who are driven to succeed, make well-informed decisions, act courageously, remain resilient when challenges arise and always strive to deliver on our commitments. Everyone working at GSI is a representation of pride, integrity, hard work, skill and overcoming challenges. GSI's team includes some of the brightest and most dedicated professionals in the geohazard mitigation industry. We are an ever-evolving group of dedicated, hardworking individuals who aren't afraid of going the extra mile to get the job done.

The Site Controller is responsible for all day-to-day accounting operations for a growing geotechnical construction division and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely operation of financial matters of this division. This is a hands-on role managing all aspects of the accounting cycle including accounts payable and receivable, month-end close, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and audit support. The role operates in a hybrid capacity, splitting time between the Westminster HQ and regional site locations, with approximately 50% travel to various sites to support on-the-ground accounting operations and reporting.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute all site-level accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivables, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes for the site, ensuring deadlines are met and results are accurate.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including inventory, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reporting packages and supporting schedules to corporate accounting.
  • Ensure all accounting entries comply with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Monitor and validate transactions impacting the general ledger (e.g., payroll, purchasing, inventory).
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with site operations and corporate teams on financial reporting, system improvements, and process consistency.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested by the Corporate Controller.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA and engineering and construction experience a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-site or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP / accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communicator able to partner across departments and functions.
  • Comfortable with hybrid work, splitting time between Westminster HQ and site locations, with approximately 50% travel.
  • GeoStabilization International, LLC. is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule with travel expectations up to 50%. The expected base pay range for this position in the Denver area is $110,000 - $135,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
