EXPERTS IN UNDERWATER OPERATIONS.

As an Underwater Operations Specialist, you'll embark on thrilling missions, undertaking essential underwater tasks that support critical operations. From retrieving materials from depths of the ocean to rescuing astronauts from space capsules, you will hone your skills in underwater problem-solving.

Utilizing advanced diving technology, you'll perform a variety of challenging tasks that include underwater welding, deep-sea salvage, and rescue operations. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the mission readiness of our fleet and securing waterways around the globe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducting wreckage salvage operations and underwater repairs
• Managing harbor and waterway clearance operations
• Assisting in construction and demolition projects
• Executing search and rescue missions
• Performing saturation diving and deep submergence operations
• Providing support to military and civilian law enforcement agencies
• Acting as technical experts for specialized military operations
• Ensuring logistical support during Expeditionary Warfare tasks
• Conducting maintenance and inspections of ships and submarines

TRAINING & ADVANCEMENT

Embarking on this career path requires rigorous training to test your limits. Following foundational training at Recruit Training Command, you'll prepare for more specialized training, including the Diver Preparation Course and Second Class Dive School.

Upon completion of this specialized training, you will be assigned to a Navy Diving Unit where you'll continue your development, using SCUBA equipment and surface-supplied systems.

Advanced training options are available, allowing you to qualify as a First Class Diver or Master Diver, with opportunities for leadership roles if you possess a college degree.
