Job Overview - Speech Language Pathologist :
Compensation : $48 - $58 / hour
Location : Brooklyn, NY
Schedule : Monday to Friday (Full-Time)
Our client is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist in Brooklyn, NY, to provide evaluations, therapy, and developmental support for young children. You will assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities, design individualized therapy plans, and collaborate with teams, parents, and staff while maintaining ASHA- and IEP-compliant documentation. This role is ideal for licensed SLPs with pediatric experience who are passionate about early childhood development and communication success.
Responsibilities as the Speech Language Pathologist :
- Evaluations & Screenings : Conduct assessments of communication, language, and feeding / swallowing skills in line with ASHA guidelines.
- Therapy Planning : Design and implement individualized therapy programs tailored to each child's needs.
- Collaboration : Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, consultations, and treatment planning.
- Clinical Documentation : Complete timely evaluation reports, daily notes, progress notes, and IEP documentation.
- Family & Staff Engagement : Work with parents, caregivers, and school staff to support progress and ensure program effectiveness.
Qualifications for the Speech Language Pathologist :
Education : Master's degree in Speech Pathology required.Licensure : Current New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology required.Certification : NYS Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) required.Experience : 1+ years of pediatric experience preferred, ideally in a school-based or early childhood setting.Technical Skills : Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Industry Knowledge : Knowledge of ASHA guidelines, IEP processes, and pediatric speech / language development best practices.Skills & Attributes : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate in a team environment, detail-oriented documentation skills, and a supportive, child-focused approach.Application Notice : Qualified candidates will be contacted within 2 business days of application.
