Pay : $50.00 – $52.00 per hour

Schedule Options : Monday – Friday, Day Shift

Employment Type : Per-Diem

Your Role as a Substitute Registered School Nurse :

Provide comprehensive school health services to students and staff in compliance with New Jersey Department of Education and state nursing standards.

Assess and respond to student health concerns , including illnesses, injuries, chronic condition management, and emergencies.

Administers prescribed medications, treatments, and first aid in accordance with standing orders and individual health plans.

Maintain accurate and confidential health records as required by state and district policies.

Serve as a healthcare advocate and resource , fostering a safe and inclusive environment for students.

Collaborate with school staff, families, and Sunshine Homecare to ensure seamless continuity of care.

At Sunshine Home Health Services , we understand the critical role that Registered School Nurses play in maintaining the health and well-being of students. We are seeking New Jersey State–approved Registered Nurses (RNs) to serve as Substitute School Nurses in Northern New Jersey.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced, compassionate RNs who are ready to step in and provide high-quality care whenever the regular school nurse is unavailable.

The Ideal Candidate :

Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License

Current BLS Certification required

New Jersey Department of Education–approved Substitute School Nurse Credential (or eligibility to obtain)

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (school, pediatric, or acute care setting preferred)

Knowledge of pediatric and adolescent health issues, including chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies, seizure management)

Excellent communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills

Authorized to work in the U.S.
