Administrative Specialist
Clark County is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Administrative Specialist position. This position performs paraprofessional level administrative, operational, procedural, programmatic and / or budgetary and related analysis and support for County sections, divisions and departments or local governmental agencies.
This recruitment is limited to the first 250 applications received and will close without notice once that number is reached. This examination will establish an open competitive eligibility list to fill current and / or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.
Minimum requirements include education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree with major coursework in business or public administration or a related field, and three (3) years of full-time office administrative, secretarial, or technical experience related to the work of the functional unit. Possession of a four-year college degree and prior lead or supervisory experience are desirable. All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application.
Examples of duties include conducting administrative, operational, budgetary, accounting or other informational and research projects, analyzing alternatives and making recommendations, writing and coordinating agenda items for governing bodies, attending to office administrative details, providing contract service oversight and support, compiling figures for budget preparation, coordinating departmental personnel activities, maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, contributing to the efficiency of the unit's service, completing informational surveys, supervising technical or office support staff, and using standard office equipment.
Physical demands include mobility to work in a typical office setting, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
