Job Description / Summary :

WVLT is seeking a Broadcast / RF Engineer. Duties include troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all station equipment with a strong background in RF transmissions.

Duties / Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Have expert knowledge regarding equipment, technology, and systems, and be able to step in and assist in emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with members of the engineering staff and other colleagues regarding technical issues with a positive and professional attitude
• Communicate and assist viewers and cable providers concerning reported outages or difficulties with the signal
• Obtain basic knowledge of the air chain with the ability to pinpoint problems
• Willingness to perform any basic building maintenance (light bulbs, basic plumbing, etc.) and run errands needed for station needs / events
• Troubleshoot and repair basic PC and networking issues
• Troubleshoot and repair transmitter issues
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber and microwave paths related to on-air issues
• Tune in satellite feeds for various programs
• Identify and purchase necessary equipment for RF needs and performance issues
• Manage the maintenance and repair of the towers, antennas, and transmission lines / connections.
• Assist in documenting air chain equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
• Troubleshoot and repair field equipment
• Additional duties as required
• This is a Monday-Friday position, but occasional weekend and night shifts will be necessary.
• All engineering staff are on call / .
