National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we'll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one - putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

As an Associate Supervisor for Distribution Line Workers, you'll support the supervision of a diverse team, ensuring the safe and reliable maintenance and construction of our distribution system infrastructure. This dynamic role combines office admin tasks with hands-on support in the field. Ready to make a difference? Join us in powering your community and shaping the future of energy!

This is an on-site role based in Brockton, MA.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll play a vital part in keeping the power flowing, especially during electrical emergencies. Here's what you'll be up to :

  • Team Leader : Supervise a culturally diverse team by coaching, counseling, and building a strong team dynamic to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Workload Manager : Oversee the team's operational workload, making sure resources are fully utilized to meet our work plan and stay within budget.
  • Safety Champion : Ensure your team complies with all safety standards, policies, and regulations to create a safe working environment and minimize risks.
  • Emergency Responder : Provide support to personnel in a 24 / 7 operation, including responding to electrical emergencies when they arise.
  • Communication Hub : Be the first point of contact for internal stakeholders and outside agencies, ensuring National Grid meets its service level agreements.
  • Best Practices Advocate : Promote and implement best practices to achieve high productivity and keep costs low.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 8, 2026, or July 13, 2026
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

    Salary Range

    Brockton, MA $87,000 - $102,000 a year

    You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Our hybrid working approach applies to all colleagues who have a role which has the flexibility to be done hybrid across the National Grid group. Operational requirements mean that not all roles are suitable for hybrid working. Managers are responsible for determining whether a role is conducive to hybrid working. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
