The ServiceNow IT Service Management Software Engineer is a junior position responsible for assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions to support IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and procedures within the organisation. -

Assist in the design, development, and testing of software solutions to support ITSM processes, including incident, problem, change, and service request management. -

Assist in configuring and customising ServiceNow to support ITSM processes, including creating custom tables, fields, and forms.-

Develop and maintain scripts, workflows, and business rules to support ITSM process automation and data processing under the guidance of senior engineers. -

Assist in integrating ServiceNow with other systems and tools, including APIs, web services, and data imports.-

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with ServiceNow and ITSM software solutions with the guidance of senior engineers. -

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design software solutions that meet business needs.-

Develop and maintain technical documentation for software solutions, including design documents, test plans, and implementation guides. -

Stay up to date with new features and best practices in ServiceNow and ITSM software development.-

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. -

Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that incorporates logical and mathematical solutions to business / mission problems or questions in a computer language, enabling solutions through data processing equipment. -

Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. -

Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business / mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. -

Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyses system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. -

Ensures software standards are met.

Good technical background in software development, ServiceNow configuration and customisation, and ITSM best practices.-Good understanding of ServiceNow ITSM processes, including incident, problem, change, and service request management.-Excellent technical skills, including ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts), ServiceNow configuration (tables, fields, forms).-API design and development, Data integration and import / export.-ServiceNow certifications (Developer, Administrator, or ITSM).-Experience with cloud-based technologies and SaaS platforms.-Knowledge of ITSM industry trends and best practices.-Experience with testing and validation frameworks.-Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI / CD) pipelines.-Good understanding of data security and compliance requirements.-Experience with ServiceNow Now Assist.
