Job Title : Manager - Respiratory Therapy Profession : Manager Specialty : Respiratory Therapy Duration : Permanent Shift : Days Hours per Shift : 37.5 hours per week Experience : Minimum 5 years recent acute care respiratory therapy experience License : Current and valid Client Respiratory Therapy license Certifications : - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - BLS certification - ACLS certification - NRP certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire) - PALS certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire) - Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS) Credential preferred - CPFT preferred Must-Have : - Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program - Demonstrates a basic knowledge of management skills - Previous management / leadership experience preferred - Member of the American Association of Respiratory Care Description : In collaboration with the Technical Director, the Manager will assist in supervising and coordinating activities of all therapists across shifts to promote and develop standards of care for the performance of Respiratory Therapy practices. The Manager will provide support to the Medical Director related to responsibilities in the respiratory department. In the absence of the Technical Director, the Manager is responsible for the operations of the Respiratory Therapy department. The Manager understands and adheres to performance standards, policies, and behaviors. They will monitor state and federal regulations pertaining to departmental functions. The Manager serves as a role model to staff. They participate in the development and implementation of care models that are patient and family-centered, evidence-based, and encourage professional practice, resulting in high-quality and cost-effective care outcomes. The Manager is responsible for the performance management of employees based on standards of practice and care as well as departmental policies and procedures. They will interact with staff in a consistent, fair, timely, appropriate, and decisive manner. The Manager plans and conducts formal performance reviews that are timely, ongoing, and objective and submits necessary documentation promptly. They are expected to be an active participant in professional development using internal or external resources. The Manager promotes the growth and development of staff by identifying strengths and opportunities and by setting goals while providing opportunities for formal and informal learning along with ongoing coaching and feedback. They maintain credibility and visibility with the respiratory care team and other members of the care team. The Manager participates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of protocols, policies, procedures, and standards of care guidelines. They are responsible for developing, reviewing, and revising clinical and technical competencies. The Manager is expected to be present during all regulatory inspections. In collaboration with the Technical Director, the Manager develops quality indicators for measuring clinical outcomes. They analyze clinical practice with the interdisciplinary team and identify opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency. The Manager designs and supports systems that facilitate staff involvement. They will interview and make hiring recommendations. The Manager demonstrates clinical knowledge by acting as a resource and role model to staff and other departments. They identify and collaborate with department leaders to establish clinical learning opportunities for students and staff. In collaboration with the educator and Technical Director, the Manager oversees the education and orientation processes for employees. They manage time and attendance of employees using the timekeeping system. The Manager performs all other related duties as assigned.
