Part Time position working 2x12 hour shifts\nDay / night shift rotations including weekends and holidays\nEOW and Holiday 2x12.0 schedule\nRotational D / E / N / W / Holidays coverage\nNo guaranteed RTO on the dates of the 3 major holidays, must stay through January\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n \n
NYS RN Licensure Required\nBLS certification required\nACLS certification required\nOne (1) Year Experience serving in Med / Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse\n\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nPatient Care & Assessment\n \n
Apply nursing knowledge and skill in delivery of care by assessing patient / family needs through active listening, social perceptiveness, and analyzing data / information obtained through direct observation and assessment, technology, or health team communication\nCreate developmentally and age appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plan of care to address the nature and scope of health problems identified\nCollaborate with patient, family, physician, and health care team members to set goals and monitor patient progress\nAdjust the plan based on patient response or change in condition / reprioritization of needs\nDevelop specialized skill in the area of cardiac care including telemetry monitoring\n\n\nQuality & Safety\n \n
Promote, advocate for and protect the health, safety and rights of the patient\nSystematically evaluate quality and effectiveness of Nursing Practice\nUse results of Quality Improvement activities to initiate changes in individual nursing practice and to influence care delivery\nComply with infection prevention strategies and maintain competencies required to care for the specific population in the area assigned\nReport potential safety risks and inappropriate / questionable practices\nConduct rounds per protocol and use tools and equipment needed to keep the patient / family informed, engaged, and safe\n\n\nProfessional Development\n \n

Motivate the patient / family by teaching them what is needed to continue care and healing at home\nAssess patient / family learning styles and structure sessions to maximize understanding\nSeek teachable moments during the care delivery process to emphasize pertinent information\nAsk questions to evaluate retention of key points in the self care process\nProvide tools and information to assist the patient family after discharge\nDocument the education provided and the patient / family response to the education\nProvide accountability for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing\n\n\nTeam Collaboration\n \n
