Schedule / Hours : Full-time evening shifts with 8 or 10-hour requirements. Workweek is Monday to Friday with call duties. Typically, you will have 5-8 overnight call slots and 1-2 weekend call slots in an 8-week scheduling window, with a 30-minute response time required for on-call situations.
Major Responsibilities :
Create and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment that promotes optimal patient care and utilizes aseptic techniques.Manage setup for surgical procedures and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.Ensure the operating room is disinfected and safe, including equipment setup and return post-procedure.Act as a Second Assistant as needed.Report any issues with equipment or supplies to appropriate staff.Transport patients and manage various patient positions during procedures.Maintain and manage specialty carts and items for surgical procedures.Provide age-appropriate care by understanding the growth and development principles relevant to each patient.Licensure and Education Required :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 6 months, unless otherwise determined by department leadership.Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques.Familiarity with operating room equipment.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Basic computer proficiency.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.Physical capabilities include lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing / pulling with 30 lbs of force, and sitting, standing, walking, and performing various physical movements routinely.Required to wear appropriate PPE such as masks, gloves, and gowns.Exposure to hazards such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and bodily fluids.This description outlines the general nature and responsibilities expected of the position.
