PGS Worldwide is hiring a Mechanical Designer in Chandler, AZ for a 12-month contract-to-hire position. This role supports the Launch Vehicle Division and focuses on checking and developing complex mechanical design and drafting packages in compliance with aerospace, military, and ASME standards.
Required Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards
- 5+ years of mechanical design / drafting experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment
- Strong experience using Siemens NX for 3D modeling and design
- Familiarity with Teamcenter for model management and revision control
- Proven ability to review and check design packages for fit, function, manufacturability, and fabrication efficiency
- Experience reviewing tolerance analyses, hardware selection, and assembly fitment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based tools
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities under schedule pressure

Review and check mechanical drawings and design packages for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry and military standardsVerify 3D models and associated documentation within Siemens NX and TeamcenterAssess designs for fit, function, and manufacturability , recommending improvements for cost and efficiencyPerform detailed tolerance analyses and review hardware selection and assembly interfacesSupport liaison activities with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and EngineeringModel fully defined components and assemblies , creating or revising parametric drawings in compliance with ASME standardsSupport configuration management and ensure design consistency across related systems and componentsProvide guidance to junior designers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design / drafting groupThis position is ideal for a design professional who combines technical precision with strong communication and teamwork skills, ready to contribute to complex aerospace system development.
