- Playful Learning Pediatric Therapy is seeking a pediatric Occupational Therapist for our Eagle River team. Our Eagle River office is moving into a brand new clinic space this spring! We will be providing integrated services in clinic and on-sight daycare. Currently searching for dynamic pediatric therapists to provide primarily in clinic intervention with some services in daycare and community depending on client need. Our new location provides easy access to community parks, the Alaska Club and other locations as clinically indicated for optimal outcomes. Clinicians will also be able to provide education of daycare providers for optimal carry over of skills for clients and overall optimal development for all enrolled daycare participant's. We are excited to provide this new model of intervention to Alaska!
New to pediatrics? We have therapists with over 10 years of experience eager to provide mentorship! One of the many benefits of clinic based practice is direct contact with skilled clinicians for mentorship as needed on a daily basis.
ResponsibilitiesRequired skills include previous knowledge of or desire to learn developmental handling and knowledge related to development in both gross motor milestones and motor coordination in a pediatric clinic-based setting.Effective written and oral communication skills are also required throughout this process.Conducts evaluations consistent with and appropriate for patient diagnosis.Designs a treatment plan that is goal oriented based upon interpretation of evaluation results and patient’s personal goals.Establishes goals that are functional, measurable and attainable.Performs re-evaluations per department criteria with modifications / updating of goals as dictated by patient’s progress.Flexibility for moving between in clinic and telehealth sessions as needed with weather and illness.Collaboration with physical therapist, speech therapist and other community providers for optimal outcomes.RequirementsGraduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.Alaska licensed or eligible for Alaska licensure.Preferably 1-2 years of pediatric experience though not required.Benefits & Perks of being a primary clinic based pediatric therapist with PLPT :Amazing company cultureHighly collaborative, interdisciplinary clinical setting giving you a home base to check in with clients and other therapist daily for encouragement and mentorship.Flexible scheduleOn-sight daycare with openings summer 2025!Home base to check in with clients and other therapists daily.Focus on optimal clinical intervention — patient screening, scheduling, insurance authorizations, and billing are completed by our wonderful front office and billing team.Same rate of pay for direct treatment time, staff meetings and documentation time (SOAP notes, evaluations, letters of medical necessity).Job Type : Full-time, Part-time, PRN
