The Fortna Leadership and Development Rotation (LADR) Program is a 1-year, rotational program committed to the accelerated development of entry-level Professional Services and Engineering talent with a passion for technology, automation, and professional services coupled with a drive for exceptional client service. Through intense training and a variety of business-critical assignments, technical and business skills are developed. LADR graduates have the technical and business foundation to make innovative contributions that help our clients be successful in a dynamic world. The program consists of the following tracks : Project Management, Consulting, Engineering, Electrical Controls Engineering, Client Support, Maintenance and Software Development. Program members are full-time Fortna Associates and work in rotational assignments to accelerate their development and assimilation into the business.

Primary responsibilities include :

Strategic Sourcing Rotation

Learning Objectives :

  • Develop skills in supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and strategic procurement.
  • Support sourcing initiatives by analyzing spend data, supplier performance, and market trends.
  • Assist in supplier selection, onboarding, and negotiation efforts.
  • Participate in cost-reduction projects and contract management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance) to align sourcing strategy with business goals.

Lean Management Rotation

Learning Objectives :

  • Learn to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations.
  • Conduct process mapping and time studies to identify waste and inefficiencies.
  • Support Kaizen events, root cause analyses, and implementation of Lean tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, etc.).
  • Partner with operations teams to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
  • Track and report lean project outcomes and KPIs to leadership.
  • Manufacturing Rotation

    Learning Objectives :

  • Gain exposure to production systems, high level assembly, and process engineering to optimize manufacturing performance.
  • Design and optimizing manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Implementation of new equipment, tooling, and layouts.
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot issues and support day-to-day operations.
  • Support initiatives related to automation, ergonomics, and process control.
