Physician / MD Specifics

_Medical Doctor only_

Corrections facility

Renewable assignments

Full-time positions

40 hours per week

Must attend HERO training

Physician / MD Description of Work

Provide care to individual patients as needed

Examine, diagnose, and treat patients and their illnesses or injuries

Consult with correctional authorities to ensure an understanding of all medical requirements and restrictions

Educate patients on better health habits

Perform tests and exams as needed, including EKGs or X-rays

Transcribe med orders

Perform any additional medical-related duties as needed

Physician / MD Requirements

Active / Clear license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina

One year experience required

Experience in corrections preferred

Active / Clear DEA

Active / Clear BLS (American Heart Association)

Successful completion of screening / application requirements (e.g., competency testing, drug screening, background check)
