Job Summary : Assembly Technician, Assembler 2

Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies. Determines and / or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, and fitting on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

Performs all functions associated with the production and testing of Objective Lens Assemblies.

Performs all functions associated with the production of various Motorized Focus Assemblies.

Verify and record product identification and traceability

Visual inspection of finished parts used in the assemblies

Fill out and file required reports, logs, databases, forms, and documents

Basic assembly drawings & shop math (Trigonometry)

Review Bill of Materials for completeness and accuracy including accessories and spare parts list

Perform additional related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications :

Minimum of 7 years' experience performing Optical / Mechanical Assembly Production preferably in a defense, automotive or aerospace business

Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gage, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gage blocks, thread gages, torque drivers, and comparative standards

Visual inspection experience

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to understand and follow instructions

Independent; can work with limited supervision and direction.

Attention to detail
