Summary : Develops, implements, evaluates and maintains activities associated with upholding the requirements of the Quality Management System.

Duties and Responsibilities : Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops Quality planning to support : P.O. and drawing requirements, process control, product validation and continual improvement.
  • Reviews customer contracts and interprets requirements for new jobs. Requests changes / corrections as necessary.
  • Develops, implements, conducts training and monitors the use of Quality Management System standards and procedures.
  • Maintains all AS, ISO, NADCAP, and Customer certifications
  • Coordinates all third party (ISO, AS, NADCAP, and customer) system and special process audits.
  • Develops reporting format and reports to management on a monthly / quarterly basis regarding : customer submittals to support nonconforming product, customer escapes and PPM levels (including analysis to identify and correct internal deficiencies).
  • Develops and conducts training sessions on QA / QC activities.
  • Provides support to shop floor as required.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding system capabilities and other considerations to support production processes and product validation.
  • Maintains all required customer documentation. Reviews customer specification changes for impact to product and takes appropriate action.
  • Performs MRB activities including evaluating root cause and corrective / preventive actions, dispositions and rework instructions. Reports to customers as required regarding MRB activities.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering to apply statistical methods to enhance and control manufacturing requirements and product validation.

Education and Experience : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

  • Minimum two years’ of quality engineering experience in support of the manufacturing process required.
  • One year of experience managing as AS 9100 / ISO quality management system is required.
  • Aerospace industry experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Minimum vision requirements : near and far vision of 20 / 30 in both eyes corrected or uncorrected.
  • Manual dexterity to handle small delicate parts and hand held standard measuring equipment at the same time.
