Job Summary
Assist with daily operations of the Mechanical Engineering Capstone Lab / Maker Space, including care and operation of Maker Space equipment.
Responsibilities
ME Capstone Lab / Maker Space : will be staffed weekdays from 10 : 00 am to 7 : 00 pm .
Staff will be responsible for the following :
Monitoring lab occupancy and ensuring safety and protocols are followed
Cleaning and maintaining equipment
Instructing students on the proper use of lab tools and machinery
Performing additional duties as needed
Lab equipment includes :
FDM & Resin 3D Printers
Laser Cutter
CNC Plasma Cutter
Welding equipment
Other various manufacturing tools
Physical Requirements include :
Lifting materials and equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more, handling hazardous chemicals, exposure to loud noises, and performing tasks that require walking, standing, sitting, bending and reaching overhead.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferences
This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided .
Preference will be given to students with demonstrated experience in welding, machining, 3D printing, and working with general manufacturing tools.
This position is intended to be a multi-year position. Staff that perform will be encouraged to re-apply in following semesters.
