Underwriter-Commercial Lines

SUMMARY : We currently are looking for a Commercial Underwriter We offer many benefits including health, dental, vision, PTO, Extended Illness Leave, Pension and matching 401K and with a starting annual salary of $61,000. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES : Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Determine the degree of risk on commercial policies. Review loss history of policyholders. Evaluate, accept, modify, reject, cancel and / or non-renew applications or existing policies. Initiate inspections and field audits. Provide underwriting assistance to agency force. Handle all duties associated with treaty exception requests. Act as the Flood Coordinator. Develop and maintain Commercial procedure Manual. Attends and participates in special projects. • Must have a bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
• 2-4 years related underwriting experience SKILLS / ABILITY Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision-making skills
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision
