Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEntellus has an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Land Development C AD Designer in our Phoenix, AZ office. We have several exciting projects underway and are looking for an individual with strong technical ability, good communication skills, and enthusiasm to join our successful and growing team. This position will require you to create and conceptualize drawings for various Land Development projects. Provide civil engineering design for residential subdivisions, master planned communities, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and commercial / retail projects. In addition, mentor junior design staff and provide quality control on design and all project deliverables. In addition, complete plan production tasks as needed. Typical Duties : May act as a day-to-day supervisor to lower-classified designers or drafters. Assigns them work, answers their questions, mentors them, and checks their work for quality and accuracy. Layout and design residential subdivisions both stand alone and within master planned communities, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and commercial / retail projects that include paving, grading, drainage, water, and sewer design. May assign the final drafting / plan production to a lower-classified designer or drafter, or may draft / generate the plans themselves. Prepares engineering calculations in support of the infrastructure design. Reviews and applies the design standards established by all agencies involved in each project. Coordinate with project team and other consultants. Works within the scope, schedule, and budget assigned to each project. Prepares hour estimate in support of project pursuits. Limits of Authority : While he or she has the authority to perform professional design duties, the designs are checked for quality and accuracy by the Senior Designer before giving the design and or plans to the Project Engineer or Project Manager. Relationship to Others : Works directly for the project engineer or project manager, depending on assignment. Has practical supervision over the drafters and or designers assigned to the project. Has no official reason to meet the client; however, at times, may participate in meetings with the client. Knowledge and Experience Required : Has at least 8-10 years of experience in design and plan production for residential land projects and general land development projects. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, multitask, prioritize work, be detail-oriented, and be competent and efficient in Civil 3D modeling and plan production tools.
