OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

  • Lead the strategy, ideation, production, and execution of engaging creative content across a variety of channels and formats, leveraging both hands-on creative tools and emerging technologies, ensuring work aligns with brand and business objectives.
  • Partner with the creative agency of record and freelance partners, providing clear briefs, consolidated feedback, and guidance to deliver high-quality, on-brand creative on time and within budget.
  • Own end‑to‑end creative execution across video, social, print, and digital platforms, bringing strong hands‑on design skills and driving best practices in creative project management.
  • Drive innovation in creative workflows and storytelling by adopting emerging technologies (including AI) to optimize efficiency, elevate content quality, and scale always-on content programs.
  • Oversee digital asset management, ensuring the efficient ingestion, curation, and archiving custom photo and video content for business use, while facilitating feedback and timely approvals.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop, capture, and edit compelling digital, video, and print content to support BioLife center activities, web properties, and brand initiatives.
  • Ideate, capture, produce, and execute organic social media content (photo, video, graphics) that sustains and grows platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and TikTok, by visiting centers and combining phone-based tools with creative software.
  • Ensure all content meets brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and accessibility standards, partnering with legal and compliance stakeholders as needed.
  • Design and implement templates and branded graphics for social media, in-center collateral, and executive presentations to enable self-service and scale.
  • Leverage both hands-on creative tools and cutting-edge AI technology to optimize content production and drive innovation.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate user-generated and center-level content, applying creative enhancements and guidance to keep assets high-quality, on-brand, and fit for channel.
  • Own end-to-end creative project management for key initiatives, from intake and scoping through brief development, production, review, and final delivery across channels.
  • Partner with the creative agency of record and freelance talent : draft and refine briefs, align on timelines and deliverables, consolidate and clarify stakeholder feedback, and ensure clear handoffs and documentation.
  • Serve as digital asset manager by ingesting, curating, organizing, and archiving custom photo and video content from internal teams and external vendors; maintain easily accessible, up-to-date libraries of approved assets.
  • Collect, synthesize, and document feedback from stakeholders to create a clear feedback loop for agency and freelance partners, improving quality, speed, and reuse of creativity.
  • DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

    Technical / Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Demonstrated expertise in social-first creative development, including short-form video, motion graphics, and platform-native formats.
  • Strong design skills and proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma or similar) to create and adapt assets for social, email, web, and in-center use.
  • Experience designing, editing, and optimizing in a variety of media formats, including print collateral, video, photo, and digital graphics, for multiple platforms and aspect ratios.
  • Maintain digital asset database for stakeholder access, with strong file-naming, tagging, and version-control discipline.
  • Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Operates with a high degree of ownership, making day-to-day decisions on creative direction within brand and regulatory guardrails.
  • Applies a test-and-learn mindset, using data and stakeholder feedback to iterate on creative concepts and optimize performance.
  • Build strong relationships and interact effectively with all levels of the organization, including center staff and donors, to source content and stories.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and sensitivity, with the ability to navigate team dynamics and support constructive resolution of creative and feedback-related conflicts.
  • Manages multiple concurrent projects and deadlines with excellent organization, prioritization, and time-management skills including in rapid-response solutions.
  • Interaction

  • Collaboration with Marketing Manager for in-center graphic needs (window clings, posters, flyers) and ensure alignment with broader campaigns.
  • Collaborate with social media lead and web manager to concept, design and execute multimedia (photo / video / graphics) content tailored for their channels.
  • Communicate with internal clients and business partners about creative assets throughout the lifecycle - from intake and production through review, approval, and archiving - to ensure transparency and timely delivery.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for agency and freelance partners on creative projects, ensuring they have clear direction, timely feedback, and access to necessary assets and information.
  • Innovation

  • Embrace new technologies, tools, and creative techniques (including AI and emerging social formats) to elevate content quality, personalization, and production efficiency.
  • Encourage a culture of experimentation, piloting new concepts, formats, and workflows, and sharing results and learnings with the broader team.
  • Proactively researches and shares industry trends, platform updates, and best practices in social and digital creative to inform strategy and execution, and to foster team growth.
  • Complexity

  • Manage diverse creative projects across multiple formats and channels, and stakeholder groups, often with overlapping timelines.
  • Balance shifting priorities, real-time social opportunities, and stakeholder needs in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Adapt creative solutions and messaging for various audiences while maintaining brand consistency, compliance, and a high bar for quality.
  • EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS :

    Education and experience :

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in creative and / or design within a marketing department, or advertising / branding agencies, with a balance of digital and print experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of internet culture and emerging technologies.
  • Fluent with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and / or After Effects.
  • Fluency (spoken and written) in English, Spanish proficiency a plus.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in style and execution across a range of production styles and levels.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with people ranging from "person on the street" to executives / experts.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

    For Location : Bannockburn, IL

    U.S. Base Salary Range : $111,800.00 - $175,670.00

    The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

    U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and / or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
