About The Position

Job Title : Sonographer

Certifications : ARDMS, BLS (AHA)

Must-Have : Must be able to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast.

Must be able to perform Echo and Vascular studies.

Able to start own IV.

MediTech experience.

Description :

The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic exams and procedures in the Ultrasound department in an efficient manner according to the physician's order.

The Sonographer works effectively with patients and physicians and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

Complete studies in a timely and efficient manner, utilizing downtime to assist others where needed.

Assure exam charges and late lists are checked daily for the ultrasound department.

Organize workload during high volume to expedite patient care.

Communicate pending exams and any pertinent information to other technologists.

Assist the physician in performing radiology procedures.

Promote positive relationships at the department level.

Discuss concerns with the supervisor and present the department positively to other employees and staff.

Maintain supplies with a minimum inventory and develop new methods of supply utilization.

Handle equipment safely and appropriately within guidelines and policies.

Maintain a clean work area and follow equipment cleaning policies.

Ensure exterior surfaces of the machines are wiped down after each workday and between patients as appropriate.

Follow the on-call policy by responding to callbacks within an acceptable time-frame.

Arrive in the department within 30 minutes after being called in.

Willingly assist with procedures in any area of radiology when needed.

Check with co-workers during downtime for the need of assistance.

Follow attendance and tardy policies.

Adhere to dress code and appearance policy.

Participate in required hospital and department in-services and meetings.

Follow safety and infection control policies.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
