Position Summary :
The Administrator of Clinical Services plays a vital role in supporting children and adolescents' emotional and psychological well-being within the Juvenile Court system. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations and consultations that align with the Courts mission to serve with integrity, compassion, and equity. The Administrator works closely with youth and their families, using interviews and clinical expertise to assess developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs. This role helps guide appropriate interventions, providing a more just and supportive system for young people and their caregivers.
Reports To : Chief Administrative Officer & Deputy Chief Administrative Officer
Duties and Responsibilities :
Monitors and ensures adherence to state and federal regulations and professional and community standards about treatment, ethics, client rights, and confidentiality.
Conduct evaluation of children and adolescents, establish developmental goals, and coordinate and revise goals as necessary.
It suggests utilizing the resources of public, private, and community organizations to meet clients' developmental needs.
Conducts the performance of diagnostic clinical interviews of children and their parents / guardians; ensures appropriate developmental recommendations are provided.
Ensures clients and their families receive instruction and counsel regarding compliance with prescribed recommendations.
Evaluates the effectiveness of intervention and rehabilitative / developmental methods.
Ensures individual and group counseling or psycho-educational programming is conducted with adolescents.
Conduct staff conferences to select, plan, and evaluate treatment programs.
Consult with medical, nursing, and other professionals regarding diagnosis, strengths, and deficits of children and adolescents as determined by the psychological evaluation.
Reviewed intake summaries, developmental plans, and case summaries; responsible for preparing and maintaining ongoing confidential records.
Responsible for ensuring client treatments and progress reports are recorded by state regulations and in keeping with accepted community standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology
One-year pre-doctoral internship supervised by a licensed psychologist
One year of related experience in a juvenile facility is preferred.
Licensure by the State of Tennessee : Licensed out-of-state psychologists must become fully licensed within three (3) months of the hire date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge and experience in utilizing modern management techniques and the ability to apply them.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational management and public administration.
Ability to develop masterwork plans and objectives, identify problems, and make changes as required
Ability to manage department operations and assigned personnel effectively.
