Maintenance Supervisor (Licensed Engineer)

Responsibilities

  • Develops work items, preliminary engineering drawings, technical analyses, cost estimates, and reports to support ship repair and modernization projects.
  • Generates detailed work packages and testing procedures in compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinates and documents both routine and emergent maintenance of shipboard equipment.
  • Serves as primary liaison with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), government representatives, and ship's crew to ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Leads maintenance teams during ship availabilities both within the continental United States (CONUS) and overseas (OCONUS), ensuring operational readiness and quality of workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering or a minimum of ten years of direct HM&E experience aboard U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard vessels.
  • Substitution : an unlimited 1st Assistant Engineer or higher Merchant Marine Credential (MMC) if substituting experience for a degree.
  • Must have firsthand experience with control systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
